PASTA RECIPE FOR HYPERTENSION

Aloha from the island of Maui, hopefully this year your bloodpressure will be held in check, and your high blood pressure will be controlled by diet and exercise and not by medication, I honestly believe that diet and excersise, and good spiritual awakening can have utmost positive affects on hypertension. Millions suffer from this dreaded disease and die from it year in and year out.

Lowering your sodium chloride intake is just the cure, and here is a simple pasta recipe for you.

1 lb. of whole wheat pasta noodles (whatever shape you want)
1 lb. of lean ground turkey
1 tbsp. minced garlic
1 medium round onion chopped fine
1 small bell pepper chopped
8 oz. of cherry tomatoes
15 fl oz. of low sodium tomato sauce
6 oz. of low sodium tomato paste
8 fl. oz. of red wine
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. parsley

1. Boil the pasta following the instructions on the box
2. In a nonstick skillet, heat up some canola oil, then saute the garlic for a few seconds over medium high heat. then add in the onions and cook till soft.
3. Add in the ground turkey and saute until nice and browned.
4. Add in the cherry tomatoes and the bell peppers and cook until softened.
5. Add in the tomato sauce, tomato paste and cook for a few minutes stirring the mixture well, about 15 minutes, lower heat to a slight simmer, cook for about 15 more minutes so the flavors harmonize.
6. Add in the red wine, and cook for another 10 mintues, season with thyme and parsley, and if you feel you need a little more salt, just add a dash of it, and white pepper.

Add in the cooked pasta noodles to the skillet, and mix well. I do not use parmesean cheese because of the high salt content that it has. Well you have to learn to eat well, or else your pressure will be up and not down.

Serve this with toasted all grain bread with a soy margerine spread low in sodium, or use olive oil as a spread.

Earth Balance is a brand that has Soy or Non Soy vegetarian natural spreads that's healthy for you, omiting saturated falts does help, and the flavors are like real butter almost. Added sodium choride is what we do not want. Using this accordingly should be okay, again, I am not responsible for any food allergies you may have or what these recipes and products I am suggesting may cause you it is just ideas on helping you with a better lifestyle that seems to work for others in your predicament with hypertension.

Safe blood pressure numbers are less than 120/80 it is considered Normal; if it's 140/90 you are considered pre-hypertensive;  if it's 130/80 and 140/90 and above you are at risk this is HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE at it's finest, which could lead to strokes and heart attacks.
