Mochiko Chicken No. 1 BBQ Lahaina

I sampled a Mochiko Chicken plate lunch at No. 1 BBQ located at the Lahaina Square Shopping Center, across the Ace Hardware, right off of Wainee St. By the way the street is pronounced (Why- neh- eh) not (Why nee) or you could call it that, for you visitors coming here. The business has been around for about 2 years, and the food is decent. This plate the Mochiko Chicken was enough for 2 people. It came with the standard 2 scoops of sticky rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad, and about 3/4 of a pound of seasoned Mochiko Chicken. It was seasoned in soy sauce and a sweetener, and floured with mochiko flour or rice flour and deep fried. For 6.95 as a special, this could do no go wrong.

There's other stuff on the menu there, saimin with Spam, breakfast eggs, beef, pork and veggie dishes, so if you like Asian with the Korean influencials, No. 1 BBQ is a pretty good place to eat, it is a counter type op, and the seating is shared for peeps eating at Ilocandia, Zushi, and Maui Tacos. I would suggest this plate for sure, if you are a foodie, destined for Maui for the first time, this is a good place, and you can come as you are it is very casual, slippers, shorts, tanks, it's all good to go, No. 1 BBQ should be a local stop if in Lahaina.
