HAMBURGER CURRY

Welcome to the blog foodies. It is January 7th, wow it is flying already. How is everyone doing? Fine I hope. In today's post I'll make a simple hamburger curry. I'll keep it low in sodium, and it will definitely be low in the sugar department. This is a simple meal, for those of you who love ground beef. You can purchase pre-ground, or take home a chuck and grind it yourself if you have a meat grinder.

So let's get on with the ingrdients. We'll use a pound of ground beef, it will serve 2-3. So if you want more just double this recipe.

INGREDIENTS

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 tsp. vegetable oil

1 clove garlic crushed

-------------------------

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. black pepper

2 tbsp. curry powder

1/2 tsp. turmeric

1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. chili powder

1 cup of water

---------------------------

1 small carrot sliced

1 small potato sliced

1 cup of chopped celery

---------------------------

DIRECTIONS

In a medium pan, heat up the oil and garlic over medium high. Toss in ground beef, and cook until brown. Drain any fat. Add in all ingredients from the salt to the water. Bring to a good boil, then lower heat to simmer.

Cook for about 5 minutes, then add in the carrots, potato, celery. Cook until vegetables are really soft, for another 10 minutes. Off heat. Serve with brown rice, or all-grain bread.
