As most of us get a little older, studies have shown that the more saturated fats we do consume is the cause for many illnesses. Of course too much of anything can be bad. Beef, Pork, even poultry can have ill effects on people, balancing out your diets with more whole foods, natural and organic can stave off illness. What we put into our mouths can either heal and prevent illness or cause us pain.
For instance, I do have gout if I eat, CRUSTACEANS, FATTY MEATS, AND CERTAIN CONDIMENTS, but if I stay away from those things, then guess what? I won't have gout. Also hypertension runs in our family, but after studying causes of illnesses, it really isn't a gene issue, it's a real diet issue. If I consume salt or sodium cholride like it's going out of style, I'm in for trouble.
Here's a tip, eat at least 80 percent plant, or whole foods, 10 percent of protein that comes from beans and soy, and 10 percent from beef, or poultry. Start this type of diet and you'll feel better, especially if you hit the big 40. Excersise is important, spiritual and mental health maintenance is vital for true overall health.
There is nothing wrong with finding religion, something for you to ease your soul, to rest your worries and be at peace. Eating right, and taking care of your body is very important.
Here are some combinations for you to mess around with.
For dinner: 4 oz. of beef or chicken (broiled). 6-8oz. of vegetables like kale, onions, tomatoes, avacados, with dressing made simply by infusing some olive oil, garlic, scallions, and balsamic vinegar. Drink more water and no sodas. If you want, fill glasses with ice and filtered water with squeezes of lemons, limes, oranges, tangerines, even ripe mangoes.
For dessert, eat more fresh fruits, apples, plums, pears, bananas, lychees when in season, do away with that fatty ice cream, set those aside for that occasion when you can enjoy it and treat yourself. Maintain your weight, have it in proportion with your height.
