Chinese Food in Honolulu

Hee Hing Restaurant Chinese Food! Being a Maui dude, I gotta say, Maui lacks real good ethnic digs, I mean those places like Chinese restaurants with killer food. Well here's one for you, if you are in Honolulu, and this is the island of Oahu (Oh ah hoo), not Maui k? So if you're visiting Waikiki, or a day checking out Pearl Harbor, find this place in Kapahulu, just minutes out of Waikiki in fact it's at the end. Hee Hing has the some of the best in the state, or heck the whole world. Operated by the Lee family since 1963, it's a favorite of locals on Oahu as well as outter island locals visting the big city. Tourist love this dig also. Cantonese is the style, they got spacious dining rooms for special events. Check out their website.

But if you love dim sum, their Hong Kong influence is the bomb! Roasted duck, live losbster and crab, noodle dishes, seafood, all affordable. The prices? Check out their party trays to go, the sizes range from small (1-15; medium (20-25) large (30-35)  The Hong Kong Dim Sum combos are killer. Baked Charsiu Manapua, Shrimp Dumplings, Siu Mai at $28.30-$56.60-$84.90.

Lunch boxes to go starts at 5.95 the perfect thing to get if you're traveling around the island in your rental car and want to stop at the beach. Some of the faves here are the Cold Ginger Chicken; Chicken w/ Oyster Sauce, Beef Broccoli; Ma Po Tofu; Szechuan Eggplant just to name a few, and all box lunches are served with Steamed Rice, Crispy Won Tons now you can't get this stuff on Maui.

They have individual menus for one person and for families 2 or more people. Some of the items the chef prepares are, Won Ton Soup or Hot Sour Soup, Lemon Chicken, Shrimp Stir Fried, Char Siu Fried Rice, Almond Float for $15.95 per person.
